What makes a wheel bad?

I've been looking at a lot of different wheels lately and I've been seeing different sportmax wheels, but I often hear people say that they aren't any good. I was just wondering what makes a wheel bad, other than weight. And whats so bad about sportmax?

Some wheels are made like crap. Just like anything else, some are better quality, and less resistant to bending and cracking.

As for which manufactures are better, I don;t personally know. But I'm sure someone will answer that shortly.

As far as bending and cracking, is that a major issue if you just use your car to get a round town?
