4th Generation Jacking Points

I am going to replace the front struts, mounts & bearings for my '98 v6 Camry.

Where is the best place to jack up the car with a floor jack & then place jack stands.

Thanks

There is a dimple under the front crossmember. It will dip down just a bit. Use the floorjack under that. Then place the jackstands under the cutouts for the scissors jack that comes with the car. Center the jackstands between the 2 halfmoon cutouts. It is reinforced at those points.

You can also go to the Camry forum on Automotiveforums.com and download the generation 4 service manual there. I believe they still have them posted. The manual will show you where to jack and also support the car with jackstands.

I like my jack stands on the cross member on either side of the jack point Mike described.

I usually set the jack down so the car is on the stands before trying to break anything loose to avoid the car from shaking.
