Parking Lights Front side marker

Hey guys

Got a question..

A little while ago (2 weeks or so) my drivers side parking/front side marker light went out.
I thought it was a bulb fuse.

So I went to Canadian Tire and got a new set of bulbs. Replaced them and still nothing.
I replaced both sides (changed colours too)

but the drivers side one is still not working.

next I thought it could be the fuse, so I took out the manual and looked up which fuse it could be.

It says it's #26 TAIL 15A but that also covers a few other lights which all work, so it's prolly not the fuse.

Should I still check the fuse? (had to run into work where I am now and will be till 7am so I couldn't do it right away)

Any ideas?

time to get that old voltmeter out of it's dusty state!!!

Check everywhere starting at your bulb contact and try to test at different locations if you can and see where the problem resides!

Maybe water got stuck in there....

not really. i wish electrical problems were as simple to fix as just replacing a fuse. unfortunately, that's not always the case.

check the globe holder and clean it up. it may just be dirty/loose.

Umm, test light? That's just a known good bulb with some wire leads. Without either a meter or a test light the only options I see you having are 1) change the bulb, see if it works, 2) change the fuse, see if it works, or 3)physically inspect the wire for cuts or breaks.

Connect one end of your test light to the negative terminal of the battery. Touch the other end to the positive post to see if your test light still lights.

Now with the negative terminal still connected to the battery, probe the test points on top of the fuse. Your light should light on both test points. If it does, you have confirmed that the wiring is good up to the fuse. If it only lights on one test point, then you have a bad fuse.

Continue, using similar methods, to probe the socket for the side marker bulb itself. if you have power there, you know the wiring is good, else you know that there is a break somewhere between the fuse and the bulb.
