Hello Everyone,
I have been getting 22 MPG on my 1999 V6 XLE. The car runs super smooth. No CEL's on. 125K on the clock. Is this normal? BTW i stay in Maryland, so weather is mild.
Driving is 30% local, 70% Highway with occasional heavy foot.
Is there any way to increse the MPG's if its possible?

thats about normal from what ive read ... it could be closer to 25mpg im sure, but it all depends on the maintenance of the car ... since its the V6, you should get somewhere between 20 and 28 (all city or all highway)

have you had a tune up lately? regular oil changes? etc...

i have 3k oil changes, but no tune up. would changing the plugs help?

also ran techron 3 tanks earlier and serviced IAC/EGR, currently in the cean phase of auto-rx

cleaning the throttle body and those areas would probably help ... as would new spark plugs if they are dirty and are in need of replacement

THanks. throttle body was cleaned. what else do i need to replce apart from spark plugs in the tune up?
