5sfe and megasquirt FYI

This is an FYI for anybody who plans to use Megasquirt with their 5sfe/fte and just some general info for alot of other models.

To start, as some of you know I plan to use megasquirt on my 5sfte project.

I was ready to install and start using megasquirt, I went over all of the wiring before I even thought about cutting any wires while looking at the diagram for the megasquirt harness and noticed there was 4 wires for the Idle Air Control valve (IAC)

Our IAC's have 3 wires. I was hoping there was a simple way around this, but after talking to a few people nobody seemed to know. Did some searching on the Megasquirt forums I found the answer. You can find it here. Here is the Description taken from Glens Garage

"This kit adapts the MegaSquirt FIDLE output to drive Bosch and NipponDenso style three wire PWM idle valves.

In addition, it has provisions for mounting two VB921ZVFI ignition coil drivers for wasted spark applications."

If you plan to use megasquirt, and your stock throttle body with stock IAC you MUST have this. Its $20.00. Im not sure what other models use a 3 pin IAC but I was told Quite a few use them.

So like I said this is just FYI!

I plan to make a quick wiring diagram for everyone to look at and use to get their cars running on Megasquirt.
