for you dash light changing fools (like me) pics 56 should be ok
a few pics to show what ive been up to... the ac controls have 6 leds in them if you would like some help with using something other then the pinpoint 74 led let me know ill write it up in here
edit-note, where it looks like the knob and spots for the vent selector arent working, the shifter is in the way..lol
first just the lights in the ac and ignition, and lighter
next a long shot front shifter with 5 bulb multi directional red led (soon to be changed) to the ac, the stereo and all
and lastly everythings on, dash lights, guages, ac, rings, floor and dome lights
in the short sloppy and dirty form:
1 pull apart the center dash as you would normally
2 unscrew the radio mount screws and the ac conrtols
3 open the ac controls (screw under 2 knobs, pull slider out, 2 clips on top)
4 pop the ac/rear defrog out of the ac control cover, set cover aside
5 (here is where it gets trucky) pull out the radio for clearance, use a small screw driver and take out the 2 screws on the op holding the slider for fresh/recirc air, pop it loose from 2 clips at the front
6 use a flat blade screw driver to twist out the light sockets, clip off the one on the right and strip the wires back, now attatch whatever lights you want that can fit in the housing (ill soon be redoing this with a flexible led set, or a small cct)
7 2 things to remember when putting it back together the cold/hot selector cable needs to go back int its clip (cable goes behind the guages) and the fresh/recirc cable has a clip on the back of the white piece, if you dont clip this back in it will hang up and not work.
this took me a while because of trial and error with finding out how to take stuff apart, and how to route everything, and figuring out why the heck the fresh air slider wouldnt work after putting it allllll back together
cig lighter ring is easy just pop it out and replace it
the ignition ring is harder to get to to, but easy to change...
Can you take pictures when you open up again to change the leds? I am inteested in how it all comes apart but couldnt get it apart myself.. Need to find some toddlers.. they seem to take everything apart!
