does anyone pull a trailer?

i am in the process of getting another 4wheel so we can take the kids riding.
I will have a 5x15 small/skinny trailer with 2-4wheelers on it. If I turned off the overdrive would I be o.k.? Thanks

Read the owners manual for max towing weights. A weight of around 1000 lbs is very manageable, 2000 lbs and you will know you are dragging a trailer.

Would install an auxiliary transmission oil cooler and change the fluid more frequently.

I would definitely install a transmission cooler.

They are very inexpensive and easy to install. Check-em out.

oh gotcha.

if it was me, i would (like some have mention) get an aftermarket tranny cooler installed. and as for the overdrive, i would turn if off it merging and city driving. but if your on a decent stretch of high way with a decent level road then i would turn it on as it help improve mpg.

Proably gonna sell the Tacoma or trade it for a 4runner or get something with 4drs that will pull.

if your gonna get the runner, try to get the newer one with the 3.4L V6. the older model with the 3.0L are POS in my opinion. search around the 4runner section, they have lots of good infos.
