Slick50 Engine Treatment

I need some opinions on this product.
http://www.slick50.com/products/AdvFormulaEngineTrt.htm

Yesterday, i was at a store in the auto section and a person highly recommended me this product. I am interested in buying it and putting it in my crankcase. He said this product is good and he has been using it for years in all of his cars. It contains teflon which forms a coating around the metal parts and protects them
Can anybody chip in and rate this product?

I actually did alot of research on products like this just to see if they really do work and what I found out was that essentially their's little micro pieces of teflon in the mix. The very same stuff you find on the bottom of your non-stick frying pans. The whole teflon gimmick works fine, except for one little thing. Sometimes the teflon particles are too big and end up clogging small areas within the engine. Most people online suggest aginst using it since it may at times cause more damage than anyhting. Hope this helps.

Change your oil regularly instead of using that, no need to add anything to the oil because oil is well formulated already. We won't know chemical better than the oil bleeder.

DONT USE IT.

DuPont, inventor and trademark holder for Teflon, refused to sell it to them because Teflon was never intended for use inside engines. The worry is that it could clog tiny oil passages.

Other "snake oil" products to avoid include Lucas Oil "Stabilizer" (just SAE 70 with no anti-foam or other additives) and especially avoid chlorinated additives (dont remember the names) that cause bearing corrosion.

Products like Marvel Mystery Oil and Rislone dont do any harm, but dont do anything else, either.

The only oil additives of any real value contain Zinc dialkyl dithio phosphate (ZDDP) such as GM EOS. ZDDP levels are lower in motor oil today than in the past because phosphorus can shorten cat converter life.

I have always been leary of these products, I would say the best thing to do is run a quality oil and change it periodicaly. I have a 93 Corolla with 212.000 miles, I have changed oil every 3-5 k miles, it does not use any oil. Previously I had an 86 mazda pu with 230.000 miles, I kept the oil changed regularly but never added anything. Personally I run regular oil as it is much cheaper than synthetics.

What about that Z-Max stuff? Has anyone used that before? I don't intend to use it since I already use Royal Purple motor oil, but I've always wondered...

Zmax paid a huge fine to the FTC for selling some products that were nothing more than plain oil with color dyes. There is no zinc in it, as the name might imply.
