4th Generation RS3000 trunk release

'99 Camry LE 4 with dealer installed RS3000 security/remote. Bought new key fobs and was able to prgram door locks, but cannot find the receiver for any other way to program the 2nd buttton for the remote trunk release. The seller of the the fobs does not know and the Toyota dealer I called said it was in the trunk. I have looked everywher. Any suggestions?

I don't think that the 99 came with an electronic trunk popper- it should still be just a cable popper, which means that it can only be popped by hand unless you buy an aftermarket trunk popper solenoid

I believe that the later gen4s came with electronic trunk poppers as well- or at least they did on the later years of the gen 1 solara

I have the same problem and can't find the answer. Dealers don't know and I've called a bunch of them. I'm replacing old keys which did remotely pop the trunk. I was able to program the lock/unlock but not the trunk release because I have no directions. Did you find a solution to your problem?

I've been wondering about trunk poppers for my gen 4 Camry also. My parents originally bought the car brand new back in 1999 without the optional spoiler and fog lights, but I don't remember anything about an upgraded security. There's only three buttons on the fob: lock, unlock and panic. The range on it sucks too so I've been looking into upgrading to something else, preferably one with remote start and the trunk popper for a trunk monkey.
