Go with OE their pretty cheap anyways. It just a good practice even though toyota says they last forever.

Or go and get a Wix filter from NAPA, or Carquest.

OEM are $40, WIX are $20.

I cut open both types and the OEM are made much better than any aftermarket. They probably could be lifetime, because mine had almost no accumulation at over 100,000 miles. I just changed it for peace of mind.

Thanks for the replies. I purchased a purolator today. Like bcsbadboys, I'm just doing this for peace of mind. I can't imagine that putting in a new fuel filter after 120,000 miles will not help.

I paid $10 CDN at Napa, for the wix, which fit in perfectly and it is sooo easy to change, I will probably not bother with the OEM/ Dealer part.

Some other Aftermarket parts do not fit right, and need to be careful when trying to save some money.

Does anyone has a picture of a fuelt Filter for 1998 Camry LE 4 cyl. 5SFE, transmission: A140E
please, because i bought 2 different Brands, and one end looks different on both of them!?
FRAM has a hole on it, like BOLT HOLDER,
and NAPA Premium one, don't have the BOLT HOLDER!?

And the other end, has a rubber cap on it, do i have to take the cap OFF of it, before i install that?
thanks, please Respond ASAP please thnks

3rd Generation

Is the darker part on the strip dirt from gas, or is that the default color?

Fine dirt and sediment. The in[tank sock filter gets most of the thicker stuff.

i changed mine today, and had 120.500 miles on it. It was hard to unscrew the thing from underneath, but when i put the new one in, at first started to spray gas all over, and then i tried again, and i got it on right
i didnt look at the filter inside though .... gotta be worst then the one on the picture here
