4th Generation Indiglo Caput?

Hey guys,

I bought some Indiglo Gauges about four years ago and they've been working great until recently. Now, they take anywhere from thirty seconds to a few minutes to turn on instead of instantly as they used to whenever I turned my headlights on. Does anybody know if this is a sign of them dying and needing to be replaced, or maybe I just need to check something with a connection?

Please help.

Thanks.

The inverter is going bad and will soon die. It happened to me. Just go on ebay and get a new inverter for like 13 dollars. totally worth it.

Thanks guys. Can you tell me what to search for on ebay? I don't know much about electronics. Thanks!

I searched on ebay and found these, but don't know which one I should get. They're not $13 bucks.

Yes you had indiglo gauges right? Either blue or green? Then you need this one http://procarparts.stores.yahoo.net/2glgain.html

If not get this one, if you have reverse glow and not the green or blue. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EL-GLOW-GAUGES-INVERTER-FORD-FOCUS-PROBE-MUSTANG-ESCORT_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43952QQihZ020QQi temZ300212357210QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

It's probably an inverter issue, but for some reason, the gauges will work when it's chilly out (<50*F), but once the heater kicks in and warms up the cabin, the gauges will fail again.

Can anyone confirm if this is in fact an inverter issue or should I be looking for a short somewhere?

Take it apart and check for loose connections!!

Shouldn't be too hard. Just a couple of screws
