help!!

So i just started my car to move outta the driveway.
I backed it up and i realized it was running funny. The car was shaking and the idle was rough. I decided i'd try to take it around the block.. the car wouldn't pass 2000rpm so i decided i'd trying putting it in 2nd gear (its an auto).. it passed 2000 rpm then...

went back to drive and coasted basically the rest of the way.
all of a sudden the check engine light flashes about 5 times and then stays on.

the idle is rough, bad smoke smell out of the exhaust.. car sounds like it's going to die.

i'm thinking its a bad ring but im not sure.. or maybe bad MAF
any help!??!

its a 97 camry le I4, about 105k miles.

Wet weather wouldn't cause a CEL code. Call around to the local part shops and see if any will read the code for free. Auto Zone does it down here. Post the code and maybe someone will recognize it.
