3rd Generation Seafoaming Question.....

Ok so i have enough info on how to do it and where brake booster is and all that good stuff. Im am doing the seafoam this weekend when i get my paycheck and my friend is in town... i am deff going to be sucking up 1/3 in the vacume valve near the brake booster but my question is that it says on the can to add in oil and gas... if i do this do i need to get an oil change right away? do i have to put the seafoam in all 3 places at one time or can i do the vacume near brake booster to clean internals and gas and oil later? im just curious cause i dont have enough money atm to get the oil change until i get my new job and/or replace the fuel filter and/or oil filter.... someone help im just wandering..

My basic over all question is if i seafoam all three places.. how long till i need oil change and new filters?

Thanks!

Chris

No, you don't have to do all three at once. Go a head with the brake booster and the gas tank (and fill to full). Save the crank case until you're within 200 to 500 miles of a change.

I always put my gas additive (Marvel Mystery Oil Gas Treatment) when my tank is almost empty. I've never put any oil additives in my car, but I would assume that the ideal time for that is about 50 miles before an oil change.

*edit* ignore what i say and listen to the mod!

Arrrgg, I really like Sea Foam and just seem to be unable to not respond.

No, you don't need to do these things all at once. I put it in the oil about 100 miles before an oil change. Others have mentioned 500 miles and (when doing it at the same time as the vacuum treatment) to change the oil as soon as the engine quits smoking from the vacuum treatment. Sea Foams web site makes a reference to leaving it in the engine for an hour (that's where I got my 100 miles from). I would put it in the gas at the same time as the vacuum treatment so it was cleaning the fuel delivery system all at once. However, in the grand scheme of things it shouldn't matter.

Run a search for "Seafoam" as well as "Sea Foam" and you will get enough for several hours of entertaining reading as well as videos.

I know this is probably a case of "to each his own" and may not matter, but when I put Seafoam into the gas tank I try to do it when there is only like 1/4 of a tank. I know this means it will not clean it for as long, but I figure that it means it is 4 times as concentrated of a cleaning I am going to get for my injectors and all. Just my two cents' worth. Tracy

LOL

Bluefusion, thanks for the confidence..but I'm not the mod for camry(s), I look after the yarii section. ..as far as what I've said, it's from experience and having read many many threads here on TN.

Tracy, I would be careful anyway, the bottle actually says 1/3 into an empty tank and fill up to full among it's directions. Now I don't' know the specifics of why, but I imagine that you'll want to have it take effect over time and that a higher concentration may foul of the injectors somehow.

Spit fire..though it may seem very straightforward with directions, it's best to be knowledgeable. So search and read at least a couple of threads just to see if anyone has had any trouble so you know how to deal with it accordingly if the same thing happens to you. Second hand mistakes make for a better outcome.
