USA '97 Toyota Camry Front Power Windows!!

Hi, I have a 1997 Toyota Camry LE. I have a problem with my driver's side power window. When I let it roll down on auto, it goes down fine, but it doesn't come back up. I have to wait for about an hour for it to come back up. So now I have to roll it down cautiously and not let it go all the way down because it will get stuck. I have a couple of friends who own '97 Camry's and they experience the same problem. Anyone with any idea what is the problem and what I need to do to fix it? I would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks...

The main power window controller works in mysterious ways....

Somebody made a how-to on that fine piece of cr**p everybody has been having problems with....

sometimes I even wonder if it was designed by a GM mole

Often this is caused by a breaking wire in the rubber hose running between the car body and the car door in the hinge area. Try holding the switch while opening & closing the door. If the window tries to move or actually moves then you have a wire about to break. You may be able to fudge this for a while but sooner or later you will need to replace the wire if it is breaking. It may also start happening with the other windows and/or locks as well since some wires are used by all functions. Consider how often you open and close the driverside door and you will understand why it breaks.
