ASC moonroof - dead - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Hey guys,

I just picked up a 1995 Camry. The previous owner had the ASC moonroof sealed shut because of a leak. I decided to remove the sealant and try to fix the leak. I removed the seal only to find out the moonroof is completely dead. I manually popped it open but there is no power at all and now it is stuck open. I checked all the fuse quick and they looked good. Everything else in the car is working fine so I don't think it is a fuse. Can any one please tell me what to look for to get this working again before it rains.

What does ASC stand for? Is this an aftermarket sunroof?

That's what I think. I think it was installed at the dealer.

yeah its after market.. and from what i've seen, they are prone to have problem.

When I had my '88 LE, I had an aftermarket ASC sunroof also. And sure enough, it died.

I had it fixed once, it was the control box (ECM). After it died the 2nd time, I didn't bother fixing it again.
