Fm band doesnt work

I have a '94 camry se. The FM band of the stock amfmcassette only pulls in static. The stock power antenna was replaced several times over the years with stationary ones. I have replaced it myself and have never been able to get the fm band to work. AM is fine. Is the radio itself broke and needs replacing or is it an antenna issue? Are these stock radios known for these problems? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-Jim

Yes, the radio itself is likely the culprit. there are seperate tuners inside one for AM, one for FM, so it's very possible to have one work and not the other.

Tell ya what, PM me.....I went aftermarket (for CD and aux input reasons) a few years ago, and I have a fully functioning stock 1993 Camry radio in my spare room.

Or you can use this as an opportunity to upgrade to a CD player. Take a look at www.crutchfield.com , aftermarket radios are very reasonably priced these days.

For $150 or less you could get a very nice head unit that plays .mp3s / .wmas and has extra features like an iPod adapter, USB port, auxilliary input, etc.
