Are there any diff. in shift cables in a 4 cylinder and a 6 cylinder. I have a 3vz with a e135 and my shifting is crap with these 4 cylinder shift cables.
in terms of use-ability? no, there isn't any difference- I am using the 4banger cables on my swapped e153
but the v6 ones (or at least one of them), is a slightly different length
but regardless of that fact, the length of the cable itself wouldn't affect the shifting unless the movement within the shifter cable was different lengths.
I would suggest checking the bushings on the shifter cables, as if those are breaking down, it can quite noticeably affect the shifting

well it goes through the gears easily when the car is off. But when the car is started I have to press the clutch all the way down to the floor so I can shift and it doesn't go smoothly. The cables are away from the manidfold
the clutch may not be sufficiently dis-engaged when you're shifting due to problems with the master or slave cylinder.
but a question though- was your flywheel and clutch oem spec? or performance? because performance clutches are harder to disenage, as well as having a lower engagement/disengagement point

The flywheel is oem spec and the clutch kit I got from BAP and it says Excedy performance clutch. I'm guessing it is.
I don't think exedy makes anything over a stage1 for our cars? I may be wrong...
but yeah...unless you have at least a stage 2 (I have a stage3), it shouldn't feel that different to a stock clutch. the engagement point just gets lower and lower

oh ok well its prob oem spec then. Well Idk, hopefully I can get around this with a dif master/slave cylinder. Hey do you think maybe it just not broken in yet....for the past couple days the shifting is getting better and getting smoother and easier and shift.
