You might be able to find a splitter that fits in the cigarette lighter and into which your adapter fits. They are sold all over, Radio Shack, auto parts stores, Wal-Mart, etc...

Can you return it and try something else?

My Verizon(Motorola) phone came with it's own car charger and it fits just fine. I think I'd just try to get a charger that fits rather than spending additional money making that one fit and adding another appendage to it.

Just my .02.

The problem is that the older cars cigarette lighter is a bit smaller around then some of the new phone chargers,GPS plugs are. DO like Kep says and go and buy an adaptor. That is why the newer cars came out with the acces. ports because they are made for the adaptors.
