Gen 3 Brake "Clunking" sound ???

Guys...what would be the cause when hitting the brake and you can hear the clunking sound ???

I know this type of problem is a little difficult to describe, but when does it actually happen - hard braking, any braking, at what point do you hear the sound? Is it a single "clunk" or repeated (pulsating) until you come to a stop? Is it the front or back?

I had a similar issue and it appears that it was only the need for new pads. I put pads on when I got home last night and problem went away. Now I'm not sure if that is a long term fix that I did, so I will just monitor it.

If you haven't done it already, check the pads. When you check the pads also check for some loose part or parts.

Mine is less than amateur advise, by no means thoughts or advise that is coming from a pro.

it can be a host of things. the strut mout can be bad and when you hit the brakes it shifts around. the caliper could be loose(happened on my girls car). or the pads need replacement.
