I have a question about the Big three upgrade and I'm trying to do it myself...
which one of these pictures is the positive part? I got confused and I didn't have a multimeter with me I let someone else borrow it. Yeah I know I have the dirtiest engine bay on TN... would it still work on a 70 amp alternator? I paid someone to do it for me last time I want to try it this time.

Hey! It ain't much to beat the block down, but it'll work for now...
As 95 said the second pic is the positive. I included a few pics of by big three to help. I hooked the alternator negative straight to the case instead of the engine but that isn't important.
BTW...that is where the freon goes in..but if it hasnt been converted from r12 to r134, then you'll prolly need a shop to do it for you, and it wont be cheap.
If it has already been converted and just needs a little more in there, then you can do that yourself.
But by the looks of it..it hasnt been converted because it doesnt have an adapter on it. You cannot mix r12 and r134a.

Do you mean that gray thing with blue electrical tape? if that's what your talking about mine was soft rubber. I just pulled it up, took out the bolt underneath it, then added a ring terminal and reattached the bolt. The only reason there is a hole in the rubber thing is that I cut it so that it would seat right over the new wire. Since then I have replaced the electrical tape with shrink tubing to make a more permanent solution.
