2001 Camry Rattle Rattle Clunk Clunk

My 01 is making a noise up front and I was looking for some input. I have inspected and ruled out the CV joints, however the top "dogbone" engine mount is badly worn + the engine will rock forward when put in reverse with the brake on so I suspect the mounts are the culprit. Are there any other possible suspension components that could make such a loud noise (sway bar links?)

Thanks,Chet

Strut mounts could also be a possibility.

USA I ditto the struts

My 2000 did the same thing. Started out as just a small noise and gradually got worse. I would check the struts.

Hmmmmm...... Started out small noise and gradually got worse....I checked all the strut mounting bolts and everything seams tight. Could the struts make a loud clicking noise if they are shot?

Riddle me this Batamn, Strut mounts is a round looking plate that goes between struts and body and is like a bushing? I am starting to suspect the strut mounts too. Globbed some silicone sealer on the "Dog bone" engine mount to quiet it down, if no improvement I better get at those strut mounts.

Update: Well after sealling up the upper "dog bone" engine mount with good ole bath tub silicone the noise is mostly gone so I plan on replacing all the engine mounts soon.

Update 2: !!! Noise came back, so I checked the center bolt on the strut and it was loose as a goose, a few turns with the 19M socket and the noise is completely gone, thanks for all the help!
