93 camry

i just replaced the engine on my 93 camry and i reused the auto transaxle. When i first drove it the engine ran fine but when i put it in drive it doesent pop into drive like normal but i have to press the gas some and then it slides into gear. I know the trans is not bad cuz it was perfect before i pulled the old motor... i know there are some adjustments that i can probably make to fix this but i need to know what to do.
Thanks

Was your engine running and your tranny is in neutral when you checked the dipstick

well after a 30min drive the engine and tranny gets pretty hot, so that could cause a miss read of the dipstick. Try looking again wen the engine is only warmed up with no driving or anything and see if the dipstick still reads full.

^ Make sure the engine is running when you check the tranny fluid level too.

Ahh, I missed your post before I just started this thread a few minutes ago. I'm having the same problem.

Trouble shifting into drive and reverse
