Rear suspension bottoming out

I just bought a 1998 Camry 4cyl with 200K miles. The struts were shot so I replaced them with factory style replacements (Monroe I think) Anyway the new struts helped some and keep it from bouncing all over the road but the rearend still bottoms out bad when I hit a bump. The rear sits low, I guess the previous owner kept it loaded with people or a bunch of stuff in the trunk. Any fixes for this? I hate to have to buy springs although I guess I could find some used ones from someone who lowered their car. Can I put some kind of spacer in? HELP!

Seems like you need to buy new springs and don't use spacers if you appreciate your kidneys

If you need some oem springs, I have a set pretty new...I'm not trying to be a bloodsucker, just triyng to help...

You replaced them yourself or you had a mechanic replace them?

Had a tire/muffler shop put in the new struts

springs...and you may want to check the new struts as well.

Most mechanics should be able to tell that the spring is out and needs replacing too, they should've noticed it while replacing struts to save some labor.
