Pics as things stand now.
I would say this is semi-complete. I'm still detailing the car and there are things that I haven't gotten yet
(lower right door seals) and I'm looking for new taillight asemblies, and I've got more polishing to do
on the bumpers, and I've also got a small handful of small paint touchups to do, but I'm rather pleased
with it as of this moment. It's looking quite good in my opinion, and I'm really anal retentive and picky.
Sure, I could write up a long list of imperfections, but I'm not a professional painter and didn't have a real
pro painter helping me and guiding me. I had a friend help who's shot lots of paint, but not on cars.
I'm satisfied, and if you're not six inches away from the car, you'll think it approaches perfection. It only
starts to get ugly when you're that close to it. And even then, the flaws are tiny.
What I love most is that in direct sunlight, the paint has what I think of as a "second reflection" which
only appears on the most ultimately polished paintjobs, and some types of paint just don't get it.
It's not really a second reflection, it's harder to explain than that, but it's almost like there's a silver mirror
overlaid on the surface of the paint. The reflection is intense.
It shows best in direct sunlight.
Actually, this pic shows it.

The car could almost seem to have chromed fenders here. This is something I don't see very often,
not even on most other highly polished black cars. The surface reflection just gets incredible with this paint.
Yesterday I detailed the wiper assembly and repainted the linkage box covers. I could just
buy new ones, but I had them out so I painted them instead.
I also painted the wiper arms (they're very easy to remove, it turns out...one bolt each.) and
I'll probably have them repainted professionally in a ceramic finish called cerrokote very shortly.
It's a great flat black finish that was developed for firearms use. It should last, oh, about forever.
