None for me, thanks. I go through life awake, alert, oriented, and stone cold sober 100 percent of the time.

I don't drink, smoke, or touch drugs of any kind. Why? I'm already having a great time!

My vice is diet Mountain Dew. And women.

Pics as things stand now.

I would say this is semi-complete. I'm still detailing the car and there are things that I haven't gotten yet
(lower right door seals) and I'm looking for new taillight asemblies, and I've got more polishing to do
on the bumpers, and I've also got a small handful of small paint touchups to do, but I'm rather pleased
with it as of this moment. It's looking quite good in my opinion, and I'm really anal retentive and picky.

Sure, I could write up a long list of imperfections, but I'm not a professional painter and didn't have a real
pro painter helping me and guiding me. I had a friend help who's shot lots of paint, but not on cars.

I'm satisfied, and if you're not six inches away from the car, you'll think it approaches perfection. It only
starts to get ugly when you're that close to it. And even then, the flaws are tiny.

What I love most is that in direct sunlight, the paint has what I think of as a "second reflection" which
only appears on the most ultimately polished paintjobs, and some types of paint just don't get it.
It's not really a second reflection, it's harder to explain than that, but it's almost like there's a silver mirror
overlaid on the surface of the paint. The reflection is intense.

It shows best in direct sunlight.

Actually, this pic shows it.

The car could almost seem to have chromed fenders here. This is something I don't see very often,
not even on most other highly polished black cars. The surface reflection just gets incredible with this paint.

Yesterday I detailed the wiper assembly and repainted the linkage box covers. I could just
buy new ones, but I had them out so I painted them instead.

I also painted the wiper arms (they're very easy to remove, it turns out...one bolt each.) and
I'll probably have them repainted professionally in a ceramic finish called cerrokote very shortly.
It's a great flat black finish that was developed for firearms use. It should last, oh, about forever.

With a good waxing and occasional repolishing with the finest polishing compounds and microfiber buffing towels, I should be able to maintain this sort of gloss for as long as I'm willing to keep up the effort.

I hope...

Earlier in the thread he mentioned restoring it to OEM showroom conditions, except for corner lenses and grille I believe.

As I have been saying, your dedication, standards and work ethic are simply amazing. When I saw those recent pictures above I literally just stared for a good 30 seconds before realizing how dumbfounded I must've looked

Keep up the phenomenal work going into what sounds like the home stretch here

i know i know,

it's great detailing work and all that

but all in all, nothing can be done to the frame...the suspension, the rusted fuel lines and cables etc.

it's amazing work though.

Maybe on your car, but not on mine, thanks.

No way I'd lower it, especially! On THESE roads? Hah! I swear, there are some spots on the roads
around Melbourne that are so crappy, even 4x4s bottom out on them!

Rims...nah. I spent good money to refurbish the stock rims (but I need to detail and repolish them)
and that's my preferred look. I sure can think of better things to spend my money on than on rims
and tires. Tires, yes...but just to replace these when they're worn out. I usually buy Toyos but may
try some Michelin Pilots next time.

Frame? It's unibody. No frame. And no rust, NONE. It's double undercoated. The suspension is
eligible for rework but the struts are almost new. No need. And if the fuel lines are rusty, they didn't look
like it the last time I was under the car to change the oil. They're not shiny clean but they only had some
road dirt on them, over the undercoating.

Interior gets reupholstered next. Fairly soon, too.
