change spark plug and wired set

HI:

I'd like to change the spark plug, my car is 1999 camry V6. the mileage is 220k km. Is that required to change the wire set with the spark plug? The current wire set is still the original one.

Thanks!

I would just inspect them for damage, etc. You can do a ohm resistance check, no more the 25K ohms per cable. If the engine is distributorless it only has three cables.

Opinions vary on this issue to be sure. With that mileage the wires owe you nothing and may be well toasted. Since the back plugs are a bitch, changing the wires at the same time may be a prudent decision.
FWIW
YMMV

That engine has coil-on-plug. There are no wires. You did state 1999 V-6, which is the same as mine.

The 99 v6's have 3 wires, the front three plugs are coil on plug, but the spark plug (High voltage) circuit is shared with the corresponding rear bank plug.

yeah I would go ahead that replace the wires if you want to spend the money on them........but if there is no problem with them than I would just leave them as is.........but yeah......the back plugs are a bitch to change........I changed them on my V6 and it took me about 45minutes to and hour to change the back ones while the front three only took like 5 minutes......again........its up to you......if you do the ohm test as suggested and the pass..........than let them be.........if not replace them with the spark plugs...good luck
