From previous experiences I have found that keeping the front end in the nicer part of the camber curve is much more important than trying to fight what is often driver induced understeer. Limiting front roll goes a lot towards eliminating dreadful positive camber up front, a byproduct of the macpherson strut design.
I did the front bar on my Legacy first and it was night and day how it handled. I should mention here that I also take my car to a road course (BeaveRun in PA). So I get to explore the limits of handling, and never once did I notice additional understeer. When I added the rear bar, the biggest difference was that it helped keep the front inside tire more planted in turns... instead of going up in smoke at 60-70 mph around turns 2-4!
I don't plan on tracking my '95 Camry. But I do realize the helpful (and fun!) benefits of having a nice big front sway bar on a daily driven car. I understand both cars are a little bit different - turbo awd, na fwd. So if someone with specific experience with having a front bar can shed more light, please do.
I will definitely check into Whiteline, I have quite a few bits of theirs on the Legacy. I like their stuff! And I'll check around on the Addco. Any favorite sites/vendors for this stuff on the TN?
Cheers.
