oil on spark plug

While changing the spark plugs, I noticed oil on the spark plug. The oil was so much that my i saw black smudges on the top head (other end of sparking end). This plug is the first one from the distributor cap side. Help me to prevent this.

1995 Toyota Camry 5SFE 130,000 miles.

Could be the spark plug tube seals. Change them along with the valve cover gasket.

Maybe before you buy new gaskets go and get a 30mm socket and check that the torque on the tube nuts is 17 ft lbs (don't over torque). You may be able to snug them up and solve the problem. If not, the next step would be what sbushnak suggested.

I bought a torque wrench. Where are the tube nuts?

I wouldn't even bother with that. Just replace the gaskets, chances are they are worn down even if the torque is a few pounds off.

I had the same problem as you; cylinder 4 has a huge amount of oil on the plug. I'd say the thread sealant(liquid gasket) at the bottom of the (spark plug) tube no longer seals properly than the top tube seals. Here's a good write-up:
