Intake Air Control Valve Question
I have a 92 Camry V6. I took out the Intake Air Control Valve and cleaned it up, it was really cruddy.
I had to use the original gasket because NAPA doesnt carry them nor many other single gaskets, much less the part itself.
Question is, could I buy a cork gasket material and make my own?
If not, what do you suggest?
Seems to be smoother but Im not sure if it's a tight seal because of the old gasket. Whoever put the last one on tightened the bolts way down, when it's only 10 ft/lbs. So I think the gasket might be quite squished.
What would it do if their is no tight seal? Symptoms?
Also, would cleaning the TPS and IAC with deep creep be ok? Can I use the original gaskets because NAPA didnt have them? Would using RTV be abad Idea?
thanks much.
