3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
after about a year(1 year in june) of driving with my new suspension my car has gotten lower but it almost seems like it a little bit softer in the front
the rear has never seemed super stiff like i would like and with the sub it has sagged. if i put all my wait on it the rear goes down about an inch. is that the same with you guys with tockico hp blues setup
how does your car ride with the tokico hp blues is it stiff back/front?
is your front end stiffer or the back
i love the way my dad's new 3 series feels because the rear is stiffer than the front and when i put all my wait on the rear it hardly moves at all. though it does have the sports package but still.

I'm not sure, but I would assume it would be the strut. When you push down on the car and the spring compresses, it should become stiffer to avoid having the car bottom out. I've noticed that when I have a full load of people, the ride is much harsher since the springs are compressed more than they normally would. Any thoughts?
that is true in my case i think that when i have a full load my springs are pretty much compressed almost fully because i cant take a big bump without bottoming out but i just think the rear is as stiff as id like it to be

I don't have Tokico's, I have KYB's. I know what you mean, I would want a stiffer/harsher ride too. I was thinking about swapping out my Eibachs for Tein S-techs and getting either TRD struts or Tokico struts. The problem is I don't have the money/time to do that right now. Hopefully soon though.
yeah i wonder how much stiffer tein springs would be because with the sub in the back the rear would probably sit just right because the intrax lowers 1.5 in the back where tein only lowers .6in in the rear
the only thing is i dont want to deal with fresh springs again because ive already sagged to a more desirable point on my car

That's true. Mine have settled in as well, but I still think it would be worth it to at least change the springs. The Teins I was looking at were selling for about $175 and I could probably sell my Eibachs for $50-75. It's all up to you though.
I thought that has to do with the springs, not the shocks?
yeah the springs give the ride the stiffness..
