3rd Generation ES300 interior in Camry Gen3?

Hello

I just bought a Camry 2.2 Automatic 1993.

Just wanna hear if someone now if its possible to put seats and the doorsides etc from a Lexus ES300 into my Camry?

Read that ES300 and Camry 91-96 should be the same car but just other look?

I have before dropped interior for different corollas into my own Corolla from 86, so i'm not completely new at this

I hope someone can help. Because these beige seats is so nice. They are exactly what i'm looking for. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus...spagenameZWDVW

Those ugly grey seats and interior i have now really sucks

Kindly regards Michael From Denmark

Just did a search in the forum and found this:

Lexus Interior Pieces, what are interchangable?

and this one: To get ES250 seats, or not to get.

But to be sure, the one on ebay is a lexus ES250. I guess those seats dont fit in my 1993 camry? I guess i need a ES300 from same years? 92-93-94-95? just thought the seats from the ES250 on ebay looks like they would fit. But i could be wrong.

And the last and most important problem. Where the heck do i get the seats. The Camry and lexus is not THAT known in europe as in US i think. Have looked at german ebay and so on without luck.

Some help would be alot appreciated :-) Both Tan and black leather seats and doorsides. Though i think the Tan ones will look more luxury.

You would need the interior from a 1992-1996 ES300 for it to fit. Your best bet is to keep an eagle eye on the classifieds and junkyards to see if there's any wrecked ES's or anything. Best of Luck!

I do want to bring up a point. The doors of the ES and Camry do not match, you may have a problem with the interior panels due to that. Since the doors are a different shape, most likely the panels that go on it will be of a different shape. Also I believe ES's windows were frameless?

Thank you for your quick answers.

Jus looked at some pictures and yeah you might be right on the fitment of the doorsides and dash from a ES300.

I just got the idea when i looked at the ES250 from ebay. The doorsides looks like they could fit my gen3 camry. But theres a big difference in "looks like" and actually do fit hehe.

Just think that the doorsides ind my camry a little cheapy looking, but i think its going to be to hard to find a cheap og smashed ES300 over here. so i'll might just pant the ugly grey dash and doorsides with some black interior spray. And maybe buy a 3.0 V6 at that point. Maybe if its possible get it with the leather seats etc.

Its a shame the camry and lexus are so rare over here. They are great cars. Its just hard to get them on the market because of the german car industry and other european car manufactures.

have you considered putting leather on the door panels where the cloth is? That could be another route you could take that would make the interior look a little better. And maybe getting Katzkin leather seat covers that are the same color... just added thoughts.

yeah i think i have to get leather on the doorsides like you say. But i just still think the big armrest/doorhandle looks plastic. Also with those big holes with plastic caps. Not very pretty hided away. Looks cheap. Dont understand Toyota on that. But i guess they want me to buy a lexus instead :-P

Heres my camry: http://www.bilgalleri.dk/uploads_xl_wm/1185444.jpg

And here you can see the plastic cover i'm talking about: http://www.bilgalleri.dk/uploads_xl_wm/1185435.jpg

As for the seats they are all manual. Would be more nice with some elctric adjusting.

But i've searched alot and cant find any lexus. only in usa. and i want import a lexus too scandinavia just because of the seats hehe. When it comes to import it will be a supra mk4 and a newer lexus ;-) hehe well gotta take som years before i get cash for that.

So i guess i have to live with the plastic covers on the door panels and maybe put some tan leather where the cloth is now. and then paint all the grey dash in som black and get some tan leather seats. maybe from another camry. i think i will get more luck in finding a smashed camry with some nice seats. gotta look out for that.

Forgot to ask.

Do anyone know if its possible to get some chrome door handles? like these: http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thu...dle_inside.jpg

Think the stock looks pretty boring too: http://www.dataophug.dk/Pictures/AAB...JPG/IE0231.jpg

Dont know they will match from another Toyota? cant find anything on google.

Heres my old corolla with white interior spray from foliatec just to show what can be done for a small amount of money. http://www.bilgalleri.dk/uploads_xl_wm/907559.jpg

Really good product. The doorsides and dash was still soft to touch and the color did not get hard or brake or anything. So i will use the product again. just not in white ;-) the camry is going to be ind the VIP style. painted black and with 20" chrome rims and lowered skirts.

Some Camry's came with electric driver seats, my Camry had them. Not sure if it came with passenger power seats in Gen 3 though.

Also, you have a Gen 3 Camry, the matching ES would be the ES300 of 93-96? Either ways, the ES 250 would not match your car in any way.

If you look hard enough, you should be able to find power seats some where. I think there is a chance that the seats from the Gen 4 will fit too, ask some of the regulars here. Also Gen 4 has power on both seats as an option.

Have tried to search here in Denmark but without luck. Cant find any electric seats or leather seats. Not even from the newer model. The camry is very rare here :-( Car prices here are sky high. For the price of and gen3 camry i could almost buy a new lexus if i lived in usa. Damn..

I'm guessing that you have an LE model, (me too).

Mine come with beige panel and crappy cloth instead of leather (like XLE model). So i painted the cloth part with black spray. I even painted the floor with black (all the way). It turned out to be a good combination of beige and black rather than just one plain color ... some cheap seat cover from ebay did the job too. Also dont forget about dash trim kit ...

If you are interested to see, say so and i would love to share some pics.

P.S: those pics in my sign are old, way off dated.

3rd Generation

So glad that you asked. Sorry for the fact that iphone camera is not that great, but here we go.

Kindda give an idea of my work, i painted on every single piece of cloth, yes even the floor carpet. It smell stinky for weeks after the work

I did wish i had black interior, but second thought, a combination of brown + black is way better.

Noted that non-leather mannual seat doesn't bother me as much as the lacking of moon roof. An after market spoiler monn roof would cost me 1k the summer after next summer, may be.

My next ride would be a lexus ls400 (celsior), they only have 1 standard

Bottom line is that:

Some affordable leather seat COVERs would do the job, and maybe some interior painting like you already did on ur corolla (it has moonroof ??? it's not FAIR !!! ).

Only pour in money for things u can't do it yourself.

i've always felt that if i had the money..
i'd take my seats to an upholstery place and get the leather redone..
always liked the leather on the vw gti.. the black leather with the white stitches..
i've never been a fan of putting in racing seats or buckets in a sedan..

lgcongbach : where did you get the trim kit from? is it the generic one they sell on ebay? I like yours, it looks like a clean job. i'd want a differnet color for mine, but i like how it covers a lot of things.
