all electrical components not working, but car runs

i was driving home and everything went out, but the car was still running, fan wasn't working, instrument panel, lights, a/c, etc. all weren't on, so i got home, took off the alternator and it was fried, so i went and got a new one and nothing happened everything was still not working. Any suggestions. It's a 1995 2.2L camry Auto
