Harmonic Balancer Removal? Timing marks on cam?

Well started tearing down the front side of the motor for new belts, cam seal, crank seal... Ill get some pics later atleast a quart of oil in there and the timing belt can be taken off by hand almost..

there is no room to fit a regular jaw puller and my crows foot I dont have any bolts that little any suggestions I tryed heating it and tapping it but nothing..

Second thing is where is the cam mark to reference to on the cover/head I sprayed almost half a can of carb cleaner cleaning up the top part and nothing all I see are the 2 slits on the cam car and the hole on the gear

Thanks, Ryan

Get a bolt-on puller, the two bolts holes in the balancer are 10 or 12 mm, a hardware store should have them

The cam pulley has a hole in one spoke. Position the spoke up, look through the hole and align it with the notch on the camshaft upper bearing mount.

You want to be very gentle with the harmonic balancer. If you use the jaw type puller you will likely damage it and end up having to replace it. It is worthwhile to get the correct tool. I don't know what effect heating it up would have. Do some searches on this forum and the Gen 1/2 forum. There are several posts.

on the v6 at least, I think they were 10mm....but I don't quite remember....but what I do remember though, is that out of all the holes on the harmonic balancer, ONLY two were threaded....I presume specifically there for if you can't get it off and have to use a puller
