3rd Generation Vibration coming thru steer/wheel at red lights

Hi There,

This happens only when I stop at a red light, I feel vibrations coming thru the steering wheel. The minute I let go of the brakes and drive nothing..........smooth.
It's a 93 6cyl le, I got it a month ago, the timing belt and water pump were done 2 months ago.

The mechanic at the dealer said that the ps belt was wearing out and another utility belt needed to be changed. My friend aprentice didn't think the belts have anything to do with the vibrations.

I changed the dogbone because the rubber inside was screwed.

Thanks for any pointers

Thanks, i did read it before and it applies to the 4 cylinder only.....mine is a six and even by putting a new dogbone there is no difference whatsoever in the vibration........

you may need to change the other two motor mounts

you may need to change the other two motor mounts

there is a front one up by the radiator and a back one near the firewall that is hard to see this is based on a 4 cyl but I am guessing the 6 is the same. you will have to jack up the engine by the oil pan to get clearance to swap them out. ebay seems to have good prices compared to local parts houses I checked

the alternator belt is easy to check and tighten or change the power steering is supposed to be accessed by removing the passenger side front wheel and inner fender plastic shroud the belts are cheap if you want to eliminate this as a possibility.

there used to be a link to the camry manual and there may be a tech mod on this site for motor mounts

Most likely ur mounts, my Camry did the same too, getting new mounts helped a lot with the vibrating.
