3S-GTE transmission
i'm looking for a 3S-GTE swap sometimes in the near future
I'm wondering if the transmission that comes with 3S-GTEs will work with camry.
Apparently it's a AWD all-trac transmission.
Will that work out?

the awd tranny won't work
the differential is different (obviously) since it has a drive shaft linking to the rear differential

yup yup...then the hard part is the wiring and the rear motor mount and carrier bearing that has to be made

nothing wrong with that...it's all a learning process....
your car looks basically exactly like how mine looked when I first started all this...except that mine is a v6

Is it a lot easier to swap if i find a 3S-GTE with a FWD E-153 attached to it already?

Duh
You can try and snag an e-x53 series transmission from a 93-2001 v6 Camry, that will make your life a whole lot easier.
The early 92-93 Camrys had the e-53 and the 96+ had the e-153 I think, I'm not too sure which years had what transmission. The solara v6 transmission will work too.

the 3sgte is a tough swap mostly because the rear motor mount doesn't fit....so a custom one must be made. and then wiring of course
and the e153 is 97+ the older e53 is basically identical, but the synchros are different....mostly said to be weaker

so if i find a 3sgte with a e153 on it...the worst part of the swap is the custom rear engine mount and the wiring.
hmm, that sounds good
now i just gotta save 4g
