Australia bad day in the workshop!

Just finishing re-assembling the motor on my 93 Camry V6 after fitting new headgaskets and when I went to put the nut on the throttle body, it fell into the waterjacket on the inlet manifold and disappeared into the rear cylinder head. I removed the inlet manifold and nearly got it out, but ultimately made it go further into the works. Q.Will the nut live happily within the waterjacket or will it make it to the waterpump and cause serious damage?

This calls for a small supermagnet on a flexible rod for bolt removal purposes. Make sure the magnet is securely attached to the rod with glue that is stronger than the magnet's pull to the iron block or you'll leave
a magnet in there, too. It would eventually migrate no matter how strong it is.


You might be able to flush the bolt with sufficiently high pressure water.

I had a mechanic look at it today.He tried with magnets, and then gave me the bad news. I'll strip it down to where I can get the waterpump out, and hopefully extract it there.
