does gen 3 front speakers fit in a gen4?

does gen 3 front speakers fit in a gen4?

i saw gen 3 front speakers are 6.5"
but the gen 4 front speakers are 6.75"

it could be that their speaker dimensions are different..
but will their brackets fit?

please shed some light?

where did you see that the gen4 speakers are 6.75? because there is no such size....my solara has 6.5" front speakers just like my gen3


and don't use stock speakers, since they all suck anyway

Yeah, if you're going to the effort to replace speakers, I'd put in aftermarket. Even cheap aftermarket speakers are an upgrade from the factory speakers.

As far as sizes, there is such a thing as 6-3/4" aftermarket speakers and depending on the specific speaker some of them will work in the Gen3. The Boston Acoustics that I installed in my Gen3.5 doors were listed as 6-3/4"s. I had to drill new mounting holes in the speaker housing to match with teh mounting holes in the door bracket, but other than that they fit perfectly.

^ oh, my bad...you're right...I remember not being able to afford the boston components now...

and as for mounting holes, pretty much none of the aftermarket speakers mount up properly to the camry speaker mounts without and adapter plate of some sort. the more high-end speakers usually come with a variety of adapters to help your install

i have the kenwood and it mounted up without drilling or getting an adapter plate but had ti trim the little plastic nipple off.
