Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hey everyone, I am thinking of selling my 98 Camry CE V6 5speed that has about 130,000 miles. I bought it at about 100,000 miles. When I bought it, the car was all stock except for the TRD supercharger, which was dealer installed when it was new and had two owners before me. Since then, I have add JP headers and a mandrel bent 2.5 inch exhaust, high output fuel pump, 5.5 lb pulley, TRD short shifter, new brake rotors, ss brake lines, shocks/struts and 1 inch lowering springs(I bought the springs that TRD buys and relabels). This was all before 120k miles.
I have dyno'd it a few times to check output and AF ration. Last dyno before the pulley change was 258 fwhp. I did not get a dyno pull after the pulley change, but they a/f ratio was checked and was rich enough.
Major maintenance since then has included a complete synchro and bearings tranny rebuild; all toyota parts, big $$$ and shifts great. Body is just ok with a slightly dented hood, interior is a 8.5 on a one to ten scale. Compression was good when I bought it and I have driven it pretty easy. Think I can get 5k for this?
thanks

damn TRD supercharged and 5spd?? Hell i give you maybe close to $8000us for this camry if you were local...but than again due to previous owners and the use... probably $6000-$7000 would be your best bet.

IMHO I think you'll fare better money wise if you return the car as close to stock as possible and retail the mods here in the classifieds or on eBay. Your taste in mods most likely won't be the same as others. Also, a turbo or supercharger added to a car that didn't originally come with one screams "DOGGED OUT" especially if they are much older than you.YMMV

to be honest man you can part that thing out for MUCH more...the SC is worth about 2K alone. not to mention there are plenty of people who would want that 5 speed. if you were closer id buy the whole thing from ya.
i'd give my left nut for this car- fuck the looks and gain some balls! I'm pretty sure i don't even break 105HP to the front wheels! but yea you'd definetly get around 6Gs for it.
Geez if you were local, I'd give you 8.5k for the entire thing! I'd probably part out the S/C and keep anything in that can be considered somewhat stock. Best of Luck!
