I'm actually heading down the Fiberglassing road for my 94 camry.
Thankfully I've built boats and other things with my father for years, so it's no big issue for me.
All I can say is:
buy your resin by the gallon.
always buy more hardener (especially if you're in a cold area)
measure out what hardener you think you need. Then add alittle more
fiber mat for large smooth areas, chop mat for corners, bends, and anywhere the mat won't sit on it's own.
'dab and stab' the glass with your brush to get it to stick, and work out air bubbles
work out air bubbles as you find them, don't let them stay there til it's dry.
applys in layers of 3, then let harden.
if you're applying over carpet, always mask off about the size of your working and the same again. that resin can really flow sometimes, and you will not get it out of carpet. you'll be lucky to get the carpet out.
use quality masking tape, not the cheap stuff. you'll be thankful at the end. if in doubt, use some aluminium foil over the tape as well.
if you're mounting speakers (which i assume you are) use MDF to make the speaker rings. it sucks up resin really well.
if you're glassing directly over/to plastic, drill some 1/8th holes in the plastic about 1/4" apart, as often as you think is needed. then put some glass mat behind the plastic, and apply your resin. this lets the resin go through and bond to itself, because it won't bond to the plastic.
any questions?
