annoying noise driving me crazy

hey guys,

i recently noticed a very annoying noise on my 96 i4 LE camry. i did some searching but i couldnt find any help with this specific type of noise. it is a squeak comming from the front or back passenger side wheel.. i cant tell which one. everytime the wheel rotates a full 360 degrees it you can hear an annoying high pitched squeak. however this sound dissapears as soon as i apply the breaks. i ignored it for the first week or two, hoping this squeak will go away, but after 3 weeks its still there.

this high pitched squeak is not extremely loud, but very very annoying.

any suggestions? thanks

check your brakes. check your pads, and rotors. look for any wear and tear on both of them.

Well...if you tap the brakes and the noise disappears..... Which wheel? try getting some sand paper and ruff up the disc of that wheel. Be sure not to do it in any sort of pattern.

your brakes are probably not in right... i would still check em... and yeah like RningOnFumes use some sand paper a fine grit. make sure its wet, it works better.

I had a simular noise once, and I though it was the wear indicators on the brakes, letting me know they would need replacing soon.....but it was a pebble that had gotten wedged between the pad and the rotor.

Take it back to the people who did ur brakes.

As a test to find out which wheel is causing the noise, you can jack up each wheel on that side independently and spin it by hand. Just remember to take off the emergency brake when checking the rear wheel.

When I hear that noise I usually tell my mother-in-law to find another way home.

Oh, I'm going to hell for saying that on Mothers Day.
