need 5SFE for 1997 Camry - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Trying to find a used 2.2L 5SFE for 1997 Camry, everyone is trying to sell me a 2.0L JDM 3SFE. My thought is I do not want anything of it, can not see that the ecm would be all that happy reading a different engine from spec, also do not know the cam spec for the 2.0L or if it even has balance shafts. If anyone knows of a used engine anywhere or wants to chime in let me know. Also what are the differences between the 92-96 5SFE and 97 up 5SFE?

When I got my transmission replaced, I remember the mechanic mentioning to me that they get all their stuff from a company called Attarco, which sells used transmissions and engines and such.

I'm sure its safe to say that they carry 5S-FE's, but on their website, they only have the 3VZ-FE (V6) engine posted. Here's a link to the 3VZ, but as for the 5S, you might want to try giving them a call.
