Question on Replacing Transmission
The transmission for my 1994 V6 Camry went out last weekend and I plan to replace with a new one. The car only has 130k miles on it and I was told by my mechanic that the transmission died b/c the previous owner probably did not take good care of the car. I plan to purchase a used transmission with a warranty from a salvage yard and get it up and running again.
My mechanic will check the fluid color and parts of the transmission before putting it in and will return it if there are any signs of problems.
My question is, should the used transmission be flushed the first time around?
...or is it wiser to drain and fill overtime and eventually get new fluid going through it that way?
Don't know too much about transmissions so any help would be appreciated. I'm just trying to avoid another one going out on me!:ahhhh:
Thnx
