Angry Oil leak

1mz-fe gen 3. Oil keeps leaking very little. At first I thought it was the loose nut, tightened it. Then the new FRAM oil filter. Well the oil filter was leaking. Now I bought a Bosche filter and it still leaks a little. The original filter Napa select 21348 didn't leak...I really don't like sniffing all the blue smoke coming out of the engine bay all the time.

Have you put another NAPA filter on to see if it quits leaking? How often have you changed the oil on this car? Pricier filters often have pre-lubed o-ring seals. Oil filter change 101: lightly oil the o-ring, put on hand tight, and back of the filter one quarter turn.

How certain are you that it isn't leaking from the cooler below the oil filter instead of the ring that the filter seals on?

Yeah actually I'm gonna have someone check the underside of the engine to make sure.

What about the leaking from the cooler that you are talking about?

I have/had simultaneous leaks from my Camry. Every time I parked somewhere and came out I saw 2 very small wet spots. I took it to the mechanic several times and had the undercarriage checked. We put engine leak in the tran and engine but it never stopped. Finally found out one of the leaks was coming from the oil gasket screw and had that replaced... I still haven't found the source of the 2nd leak though

This is bad. I'm having the exact 2 oil spots leak. Any one found solution for this?

is it possible a gasket from an old filter is stuck on the oil filter mount?

The filter should have the gasket, not the mount on the engine. You should easily be able to see the gasket on the filter. Before installing, run some engine oil around the gasket face. Do not over tighten the filter, the box should have the directions.

Make sure the filter is the right one, the filter threads pitch can vary.

If the engine has an oil cooler beneath the filter mount (look for two hoses running to the area under the filter), the 0-rings have been known to leak. Determine if it is the filter gasket or the mount below it.
