Just changed my clutch slave and master cylinder

My Camry has 122K miles, in one occasion the clutch got stuck half way thus I suspected that the hydraulic was failing.

Got my hands dirty last weekend and changed the slave and master cylinders. The slave was a cinch and the master was a bit longer. Removing that clip that holds the pin attached to the clevis was challenging (I thought it was a cotter pin).

Then I started to bleed the system and it just kept on releasing air. After three days of thinking I decided to exchange the master cylinder, called the store so that they could order a replacement. The next day I decided to remove the master cylinder so I could return it to the store. After removing the part, I decided to do a last check and placed it next to the original part. I found a difference, the length of the push rod assembly was shorter on the new part so I adjusted it to match the old part and decided to install it back. Lo and behold it did the trick. Bleeding was a cinch and the air bubbles were completely gone.

Now the clutch works and it feels completely different.

hmmm....really? because my clutch gets stuck sometimes, but I presumed that it was because my master and slave are from napa instead of oem...

unfortunately, I have no oem master cylinder to compare to since I swapped my tranny to a 5-speed

which push rod are you speaking of? the one attached to the clutch pedal from the master cylinder? and I didn't know that it was adjustable? how did you adjust it?

Went outside and took a picture of the master cylinder. If you look at the left side of the picture, next to the clevis there is a bolt that you can loosen and then rotate the clevis around thus expanding the rod assembly.

Hope this helps.

P.S. The picture is from the part I just pulled. And the replacements parts I got were from Kragen.
