3rd Generation One problem leads to another???

Hey guys, I had a problem starting the car at all since Thursday and after jump starting the car and failing it was thought to be the distributor cap and rotor.

My father dealt with it his own way while I went to deal with some finals now today it was done. So far the cap and rotor needed replacing and a new battery also.

Now I see the emergency brake light on even when the e-brake handle is all the way down. I tried moving it back up and down to see if it goes away.

The handle pulls to left side the more you bring it up and it does feel weak. It needs to be pull all the way up till the car while on D doesn't move.

When put away from the highest point the car while on D moves freely like the e-brake handle is all the way down. So this assures me that the e-brake is not on at all when put all the way down like it should so I try to drive around a bit and notice anything different.

Nothing out of the ordinary but the e-brake light is still on. I do need to change the brake pads and drum shoes since it's pretty much needs replacing but that is it.

Would this do anything to the e-brake??? I have a 95 Toyota Camry 5sfe with drum brakes in the rear. Help!!! I ordered some Hawk Pads and autozone's brand of drum shoes to be put in soon.

Edit- *If anyone asks yes I figured out the issue I had with the suspension and the piece already arrived and just waiting on finals to finish to tackle it already with now the brakes to be done the same time*

Check the hand break sensor. there could be buildup on the contact points that's causing the light to stay on.
