Any other Gen4 owners out there shopping a new car???

So, I'm dyin' for a new car, but am kinda' torn. In the Toyota field, I'm looking at possibly just doing another Camry (no brainer) or perhaps the Gen10 Corolla.

My '98 still looks, drives, feels, etc. like almost new to me. (145K miles and just still so good to me).

I doubt I'll even CONSIDER getting rid of that car before 200K miles.

If I could buy the exact same car, brand spankin' new all over again, I would!!! Since I can't, I wondered how the Gen10 Rolla compares, but it appears to be just a little smaller yet. Maybe Gen2 Camry, but definitely not Gen4 size.

Then again, I'm hung up on MPG!

Anybody else in a similar situation??

I plan to buy a RAV4 later this year. The Camry has been good to me and I will keep it.

When the lease on the highlander ends (in January) my wife would like a Corolla. I my kids (both in school) Corolla's and I find them just as dependable as the Camry's, but less expensive, although they are Toyota so they still hold their value. I would probably be getting a 2000+ if we go that route.

Once I get the 93 on the road, I will have an extra car, so we may end up getting rid of the Highlander and not having to get another car. My 93 is a 6 cyl, so I won't be getting the mileage that the Corolla would give us.

You can't go wrong with either the Corolla or Camry. I go over to the Corolla section a lot and it would be wise to check with them. They can tell you what years and models are usually best and what problems you can expect on certain years.

Interestingly, I've considered the Rav4 too. I like MPG, but $40K on a Highlander Hybrid is just money I can do more things with otherwise. Test driving the 4-cylinder Rav4, however, left me feeling a little on the "cheap" side. However, perhaps the '09 revamp will be a little more refined?

Reason for Rav4 was because I figured it might be nice to regain the real estate lost in owning another "sedan". Always being separated from the trunk & all that.

Venza......'maybe'......but gotta check it out firsthand first & also see if the new 2.7L i-4 is gonna have sufficient MPG.
