looking for a little more...LIGHT

Hey all. I was driving home from a friends house tonight in the dark and rain...and I realized...I want a little more light. I don't want obnoxious blinding headlights..those probably aren't really legal anyways. Just something a little brighter. And I think getting the Depo housings would help a bit also.

What are you're thoughts on brands? I don't think I want to go all out on Xenon conversions...is there something I can just plug in to the normal ports? I keep hearing Sylvania when I look into bulbs, but I don't know.

What do you think?

Thanks.

^ Melts on the socket on some cars, it did on mine.

I'd go with the depos.

You could do HIR bulbs. A little pricey, but good from what I've heard.

4th Generation

I concur on this one, is what I use. Was considering some PIAA's though, still not sure, the Silverstar Ultra's are damn bright.

What are HIR's? There was a link in the thread linked to in the first reply, but it was dead. And when you say Silverstar Ultras...you mean the modded or unmodded ones?

Thanks.

unmodded.

HIDs are great but there are a couple problems with them on teh gen3 headlights. first the lights distibution sucks. hot spots and glare combine to reduce their efectiveness. if ya get an HID kit make sure it has a sheild for the bulb to reduce glare.

tee hee, when i did the 9005 retro fit I was blinding everyone.

I had to lower my headlights. Do the depo kits have 9005 socket for lows?

Lol, see, I DON'T want to blind people. That pisses me off like nothing else especially when they're on my bumper at night. Meh. Should I just give the Depo's and the Silverstar's a try for now?
