3rd gen engine in 4th gen??
My friend gave me his 1997 (4th gen) for free but has a bad knocking in engine (2.2). I have another friend thats selling me the whole car for real cheap but tree fell and smaches down the roof. Engine runs very well.. all i need is another motor. but its 96 camry with 2.2 as well. i know the computer and sensors is different but WILL the bottom end fit and i use my intake and mainfold and head cylinder off my 97 and put on the 96 motor and drop in 97? will it still work? or can use head and motor and use 97 intake and mainfold on the 96 motor? I have been trying to find out online but cant find anything like that. 92 to 96 have dist. 97 to 01 is dist. less im aware of that but just need to know if head and block will work with 97 or just the block alone?
96 cylinder head, block wih 97 intake mainfold, sensors install in 4th gen
or
96 bottom end with 97 cylinder head, intake mainfold, sensors in 4th gen.
need some answer to it. thanks
