Cost to have a bumper painted

I am thinking about getting the front bumper painted on my 98 Camry, does anyone have a ballpark cost for getting one painted?

Is there a special paint they use for bumpers? I have two sections that are down to bare - whatever the material is they use on bumpers.

Call a few local paint and body shops and ask for estimates. But I personally would not call Maaco as
I have not been impressed with their work in the slightest, personally.

I just repainted my bumpers...and the rest of the car. To do the job right, and fill in every little nick, scratch,
and flaw of any kind, and repaint the bumper properly in two stage urethane basecoat/clearcoat, and then
polish it all out, was a good 10 labor hours for me. But I'm not a professional and don't work as fast as
a pro would.

I'd expect a top quality bumper repaint job to cost 300 bucks, easily. I know how much work goes into it.

Paint costs alone would be about a hundred bucks to do it right, due to the minimum quantities I'd have
to buy to do it. (Pints for everything, or quarts. Too much for just the bumpers, but there's no choice.)

The last time I had a bumper repainted was '99, on a '99 Honda Accord. I would drive to at least, say, four different body shops and ask for estimates. Be sure to indicate that you are paying cash, that this is no insurance claim. Also be sure to stop by your local dealer to get a quote.

Remembering that this was in 1999, the lowest quote I got was $100 from the Honda dealer (they had some special going on). Other body shops ranged from $200 to $300. The lady who was paying really wanted me to go to a specific body shop, one that I happened to trust, so I went there and the cost to her was $200.
