Good amp locations

Okay, i've never put a stereo system in a car before, but I have put a head unit in my car... I bought a box with subs and a couple amps for pretty cheap, and i'm looking to put them in my car. I already have an installation kit with a power cord, fuse holder and remote wire and stuff. I know i'll be running the power through a hole in the firewall somewhere, and sneaking it under the carpet, but as for where and how I mount the amp, i'm at a loss. I kinda want to put it under my seat, but I don't want to take the seat out and drill holes in the floorboard.

And running the wires back to the speakers in the trunk is a whole other mess, but I figure i'll just sneak them under the seat and through the cargo opening into the trunk.

Does anyone else have experience with this stuff? I've never put one in before, but i've seen many installations, and I want to make it professional-looking, as in no wires showing if I can help it.

Any input or links to point me in the right direction would be awesome. Thanks!

both those ideas are common

and also, you can just keep your amp under the front seats as well if you want without drilling

just use a couple pieces of velcro

Velcro! Genius!

Thanks guys, I think i'ma put it under my seat with velcro. One of the guys at the shop I work at, and will be leaving soon, puts systems in cars for fun, and he says not to mount the amps on the box. Basically says it encourages thieves who get into your car to rip out your whole system... I'm gonna have to get an alarm too anyways.

I'll probably tear some interior trim apart in the next few days and see what I can do. Thanks for the input!

you can mount it where ever as you please, but make to have room for the heat to vent from the amp and air to circulate...
