1999 camry-transmission pan gasket

Hello all,
I recently took my 1999 camry to the local Toyota dealership to check the A/C, and they said that the trasmission pan was leaking and that the gasket needed replacement. Does anyone know how much this would cost? They did give me a quote, but I am choosing not to mention the number here, so that I don't bias anyone who may respond

I am a little wary, because I never see any patches on the ground even after I have parked overnight at the same spot.

Thanks so much for your help.
Mathew

I can't see it taking more than an hour labor, parts and disposal. I would think it would be well under $200 and should be closer to $100. However, you say that you haven't seen a leak. I would start checking your transmission fluid level daily for a week and then moderate it to weekly or monthly if you don't have major loss. If you're not loosing fluid, why bother? Sounds like a scam to me.

I wouldn't bother. Just check your fluid.

My car has that same problem... They quoted me $50 at my local garage. I am just waiting for a few days off to go and take care of it.
